Buena Onda

Buena Onda bakes Argentine empanadas to order on Santa Barbara's east side, and on music nights its string-lit patio becomes a small cultural hub for the city's Argentine community. A dance floor comes out for tango milongas, and the calendar leans toward bandoneon players, tango singers, flamenco, and jazz ensembles that blend South American and European influences. Artisan markets and the occasional DJ night round things out, and during World Cup season the place turns into a packed watch party. Shows run like a relaxed dinner performance, with guests eating, sipping Malbec, and drifting onto the floor. It rewards musicians who can hold a listening audience and coax dancers out of their chairs.
