Canyon Tavern

Formerly the Last Stand Tavern, the Canyon Tavern sits on Highway 72 in the Coal Creek Canyon area outside Golden. It is a small mountain pub with a distinct off-the-highway feel that draws a regular crowd of locals and cyclists. Live music happens on Saturday nights during the summer and fall, with most summer shows taking place outside where the setting really works. The 75-person capacity keeps things intimate, and the programming leans acoustic, rock, country, and rockabilly. For guests, it is a scenic drive worth taking; for artists, it is a friendly mountain-pub stage with a receptive Saturday-night crowd.
