Carhartt Family Wines

The Carhartt Cabin on Grand Avenue in Los Olivos was once called the world's smallest tasting room, and it still feels like a friend's porch. The Carhartt family farms Rancho Santa Ynez, a former dairy and cattle ranch that has stayed in the family for three generations, and Mike, Brooke, and their son Chase grow and make every wine themselves. The bottles are sold only at the Cabin, through the club, or online. Most visitors skip the snug interior for the spacious back deck, where locals and wine country travelers settle in with a glass. The Cabin keeps later hours than most of its neighbors, and on select Sunday afternoons solo and duo performers play while guests unpack picnics and food trucks serve nearby.
