Local

Local sits on the lower level of Coast Village Plaza in Montecito, and its owner opened it partly to give the neighborhood something to do after dark. The room centers on a 360-degree bar and a baby grand piano, with bifold doors opening to two heated patios, a long fireplace, and lounge seating. Days bring lunch and weekend brunch with live jazz, and later in the evening the space settles into a relaxed cocktail lounge with live music most nights. Pianists, singer-songwriters, duos, and jazz players provide a warm soundtrack for a well-dressed, local crowd. The music supports dinner and conversation, so tasteful, polished performers are the best match.
