Tucked into downtown Martinez along the banks of Alhambra Creek, Six Eleven Bar and Grill is one of the most promising new live music destinations in Contra Costa County. Opened in 2024 in a beautifully remodeled space that pays homage to the Victorian charm of the historic Bertola's site it occupies, Six Eleven blends rustic elegance with a genuinely warm neighborhood spirit. The indoor dining room is cozy and intimate with a stunning bar area at its center, and the outdoor creekside patio is one of the most scenic spots to catch a live set anywhere in the East Bay, with sunset views over the water that feel almost unfair. The kitchen delivers an ambitious menu anchored by standout dishes like Braised Short Rib Pappardelle, Chicken Parmesan, handcrafted pizzas, shrimp tostadas, and a banana bread pudding that reviewers consistently describe in terms usually reserved for religious experiences. Bar Manager and mixologist Cory runs a cocktail program that won the 2024 Martini Shake-Off, and the wine and beer selection continues to grow. Live music runs on select weekend nights with no cover charge, and the programming has already showcased an eclectic range of artists from classic soul and R&B to Latin, salsa, and rock.
