The Sand Bar

The Sand Bar sits on the Capitola Village esplanade at 211 Esplanade, directly facing the ocean with Monterey Bay spread out just beyond the patio. It is a 21+ blues and roots bar with a 130-person capacity and one of the most purely pleasurable settings of any music venue on the California coast. The combination of the ocean air, the village atmosphere, the cold drinks, and the live blues music on the small stage creates the kind of easy, unhurried evening that you come to the coast looking for. In summer, the esplanade fills with visitors and locals together, and the Sand Bar is where many of them end up.
